Most football simulators stop at the touchline. PFU doesn't. Behind every table position, transfer and result is a squad of people carrying the ordinary weight of life — family, money, pressure, identity, and sometimes real strain on their mental health. Human Activity is where we tell those stories.
Every storyline here is built around a specific player, manager, owner or member of staff already in the PFU database, and connects them to someone real to them — a parent, a childhood friend, an agent, a journalist, a fan who's followed them for decades. Nothing is generic. Each entry exists because it was written on purpose, logged against a real character, and given its own record in our storyline tracker.
Some of these stories touch on anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder and other real mental health experiences. We take that seriously. Our approach:
We don't use a diagnosis as shorthand for "difficult" or "bad" behaviour. We try to ground portrayals in specific, human detail rather than clinical labels alone. We show people managing and coping alongside any crisis, not crisis in isolation. And we deliberately spread these experiences across different kinds of characters — heroes, villains, and everyone in between — rather than concentrating them in whoever the story needs to be unsympathetic.
Where a character speaks about their own mental health directly, we write it in their own voice, with their own agency, and without a tidy resolution. Managing something well is still managing it — not being "cured" of it.
The human side of PFU is one of the things that sets this world apart, and we want as many people as possible to see it. The great majority of Human Activity content — stories, the People directory, and this page — is free to everyone. Over time, some deeper or more expansive content may sit behind PFU Premium, but the core of what makes this world feel real will stay open.
PFU is a fictional simulation. If anything here resonates with something you're going through personally, it's worth talking to your GP, a trusted person in your life, or a mental health professional. That's true regardless of anything in this game.
